SHANGHAI SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (SSIS)

REVIEW 1:

"My girl attended Primary One since September 2005 in Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS), XuiHui campus.  SSIS was chosen, as we wanted to minimize the difference when we go back to Singapore.

There are 20 students in each class.  As I was tied up with my little one at home, I missed almost all the “meet the parent/teacher session” in every semester.  To my surprise, other than the semester result reports, I receive phone calls from her Form Teacher, Ms Wendy Peh (after her office hours) to update me on how my girl was doing at school.  From time to time, she would also call me to inform me of some the concerns that she had observed apart from academic results.

So far, I am very pleased with the support I received from the school.  I am particular happy with the way the school helped to develop a child’s personality by allowing their students to hold some responsibilities in class, namely student aide, class monitor, group leader etc.  However, the school could be better if there were more outside curriculum activities (after school hours) as what other international schools do."
