Expatriate families have written personal reviews about the compounds in which they are residing. The list of areas of accommodation we have is by no means comprehensive... there are just so many residential developments in Pudong!!
This would be the residential area closest to the Bund on the Pudong side. It houses the Financial and Commerical Center of Pudong. The Superbrand Mall, Nextage Yaohan Shopping Center, Xin Mei Building, Times Square and Food Inn can be found here. Two more new shopping stores have recently opened. Places of interest include the Oriental Pearl Tower, Natural Insect Museum and the Ocean Aquarium. Grocery shopping can be done at Lotus at the Superbrand Mall, City Shop or in the Nextage/ Yaohan Shopping Center. More reviews will be posted soon.
This area borders Lujiazui and Lianyang districts. It holds the Yuan Shen Stadium. Restaurants and other smaller eateries can be found around this Sports Centre. The apartments here are fairly new. There is quite a bit of construction going on though, as the area prepares for the launching of the Metro Line 6 Station. The Science and Technology Museum is located here. Reviews and more photographs will be posted soon. Do come back later!
Residential compounds have sprung up around the Thumb Plaza. Many restaurants can be found in this area such as Sakae Sushi, Moon River Diner, A huge Carrefour and Lotus serves this area. You will also find the Pudong Century Park here. Reviews and photographs will be posted soon. Do come back later!
Villas, townhouses and some apartments can be found in this area which is much further away from the Bund. This area is quieter with fewer high rise buildings and is much favored by expatriate families. Restaurant food tends to be higher priced, with established eateries such as Blue Frog, Latina, Zentral and Simply Thai. You can find the Carrefour store as well as Pines, the Marketplace here. Household furnishings can be obtained from the B&Q store here. Reviews and photographs will be posted soon. Do come back later!
Located around the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Park, this area houses villas, townhouses and low rise apartments. The area is in general quiet and because of the distance from Puxi and Lujiazui, housing is generally more affordable. The Maglev train station is located here. Groceries and household items can be purchased at the Metro Store here. Restaurants and cafes can be found at the Shanghai Legend, next to the Zhangjiang MRT stop. Shopping in general is limited as compared to the rest of Pudong. Reviews and photographs will be posted soon. Do come back later! |
